Indian Law

Our Indian Law attorneys deliver hands-on representation covering various legal disciplines, including commercial law, gaming, taxation, joint business ventures, government relations, administrative and lobbying efforts, land and water rights, as well as environmental regulation and litigation. We have outstanding reputations for our experience representing tribal interests and companies doing business with Indian tribes, including being effective client advocates before the Bureau of Indian Affairs, administrative agencies and the United States Congress.

We assist clients in the negotiation of a wide variety of gaming-related agreements, including management, development and financing agreements, and compacts pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988. In addition, we have experience representing clients desiring to structure a wide variety of business relationships with Indian tribes in Oklahoma, regionally and nationally in order to take advantage of the unique opportunities available in these arrangements.

Further, we are familiar with the nuances and differences in gaming regulation laws from state to state. We assist clients, both Indian tribes and companies who wish to do business with tribes, with the following in this area:

  • Casino due diligence
  • Regulation compliance
  • Construction issues
  • Licensing negotiation between state officials, tribal leaders and investors
