Diversity

Hall Estill is committed to the development of a diverse and inclusive workplace for attorneys, professionals and other staff members without regard to age, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or disabilities. We believe the breadth of knowledge and depth of life experiences these individuals bring to the firm are invaluable, and increase the skill and perception with which we provide legal services to our clients and contribute to our communities.

The firm has an active Recruitment & Diversity Committee (RDC) comprised of 14 individuals (both attorneys and staff), who report directly to the firm’s Managing Partner and Executive Committee. The RDC designs and directs all of the recruitment and diversity activities of the firm. Through our diversity recruitment efforts, we conduct on-campus interviews at Howard University and Texas Southern University, and each year select nationwide career fairs in which to participate, including the Rocky Mountain Black Law Student Association Job Fair, the Sunbelt Minority Recruitment Program, the Southeastern Minority Job Fair and IMPACT Career Fair for Law Students and Attorneys with Disabilities. We also post resume collections at Southern University and North Carolina Central University, and also participate in Georgetown University Law Center's Diversity Resume Collect.

In addition, the group focuses on the implementation of Hall Estill 3-Year Diversity Initiative, including diversity-related training, sponsoring/co-sponsoring events geared toward women and minority attorneys, and becoming more involved with minority-based legal associations.

Hall Estill’s diversity program spans all aspects of firm life, including, among other topics, Professional Development/Training, Work/Life Balance, Mentoring/Retention and Career Development. The firm also makes working part-time a viable option for those whose situations warrant such an arrangement.
