Government Contracts & Relations

We represent clients in all aspects of government contracting, from bidding and contract formation through administration, claims and dispute resolution, termination, and post completion issues, including litigation, if necessary.

Our experience includes:

  • Requests for proposals, submission of offers, negotiating prices, bidding and bid protests
  • Reviewing and negotiating federal government subcontracts
  • Assisting in determining applicable FARs and DFARs in federal government subcontracts
  • Negotiating and reviewing contracts, proposals, equitable adjustments and termination settlements, and resolving contract disputes
  • Facilitating contract financing by arranging for the assignment of contract payments to lenders
  • Preparing contract claims for equitable adjustments for extra work, defective specifications, formal modifications, actual and constructive changes, suspensions, and terminations for default and convenience
  • Contract performance issues regarding such matters as interpreting contract requirements, protecting technical data, records and Freedom of Information Act
  • Handling disputes between prime contractors and subcontractors
  • Performance and payment bond issues, and Miller Act claims
  • Counseling clients on issues involving Buy-American requirements and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
  • Assisting contractors in complying with the requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act, Services Contract Act and other labor statutes
  • Defending actions and prosecution brought under the civil and criminal False Claims Act, Forfeiture Act and Truth in Negotiations Act
  • Representing debarred or suspended contractors
  • Internal investigation of potential violations of law
  • Design-build contracts
  • Assistance in understanding and analyzing government regulations and regulatory schemes, including the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act
  • Representation of contractors in agency suspensions and debarment proceedings
